It seems that musical heritage is not impressive enough for X Factor producers, after they decide to cross Liverpool off the auditions list. The city that brought us The Beatles has failed to move in a way the makers of the show. Even the fact that names like Rebecca Ferguson, Marcus Collins and Christopher Maloney come from there, didn’t make any difference.
Last year it was Birmingham who was ditched by Simon Cowell, but the producers decided to bring it back now but axe Newcastle and Liverpool. The cities that will host auditions are London, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow and Plymouth.
An inside source declared: They have had a few names come from Liverpool in the past but they were pretty underwhelmed by the talent last year. They want to try somewhere totally different because they are worried people could get bored and are desperate to diversify the talent on the show.Last year we found some great talent in Liverpool but this year we won’t be returning. We visit a range of cities. It seems that Christopher Maloney failed to impress last year if the producers want to go scouting for talent somewhere else.
The show’s preliminary auditions already got off in a bad start, with just one person showing in the first hour of auditions, in Colchester, Essex.
The X Factor producers are trying to revamp the show this year after the last season faced some serious drops in the numbers. Simon Cowell will be more involved in the show, appearing in some editions even, and he’s trying to mix up the panel as well. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet but voices say that Sharon Osbourne will be back, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow have their seats guaranteed, and Nicole Scherzinger is playing hard to get for a bigger salary.
