Aled Jones will host ITV’s new Weekend show called Good Morning Britain! He’s excited about doing this season’s 42 shows which offer a mixture of news, gossip and entertainment. The Songs of Praise host is a perfect fit for the show.
Aled Jones is to front a new show on ITV, entitled Weekend.
Every Saturday and Sunday, the show will feature a mixture of celebrities, entertainment and music in order to give the weekend mornings a ‘feel good start’.
Each episode will play to Jones’ love of music by focusing on a primary musical guest, who will chat and perform songs from their repertoire.
Two further guests will also join the show to speak to the Songs of Praise host.
Jones said: “What more can I ask for than a mix of all of the things I love! It’s a dream come true to present a show I’ve always wanted to watch and I can’t wait to get started.”
ITV Director of Daytime, Helen Warner commented: “It’s fantastic to have Aled hosting our new weekend morning shows. A mix of good company, great music and entertaining guests make for the perfect relaxing weekend.”
Amanda Ross, Cactus joint Managing Director added: “Cactus are really looking forward to working with Aled on Weekend. It’ll be great for the viewers to spend quality time with him and enjoy long form interviews with his guests.”
42 episodes of the series have been ordered, for broadcast later this year.
Those who are familiar with Aled Jones from Songs of Praise will be very happy to see him host ITV’s Good Morning Britain. From all I’ve been reading about the new show, it sounds like ITV is really putting quite a bit of work into making it the best morning show ever. I can’t wait until it begins!
