Top Celebrities and Athletes Call for Scottish Independence No Vote

Dear Scottland,

The British people love you and want you to stay part of Great Britain. That’s the sentiment of 200 top celebrities and dozens of top UK athletes. Scottland wants to be free, but Great Britain’s popular celebrities and athletes say no. The Let’s Stay Together campaign is picking up more and more public figures, the effect of which will have a huge impact on the upcoming referendum.

More than 200 celebrities and public figures, including Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Bruce Forsyth, Dame Judi Dench, Simon Cowell and Professor Stephen Hawking, have signed a letter calling for a No vote in the Scottish independence referendum, campaigners Let’s Stay Together said today.

Here’s the letter these celebrities signed:

The decision on whether to leave our shared country is, of course, absolutely yours alone.

Nevertheless, that decision will have a huge effect on all of us in the rest of the United Kingdom.

We want to let you know how very much we value our bonds of citizenship with you, and to express our hope that you will vote to renew them.

What unites us is much greater than what divides us. Let’s stay together.
