This year’s X Factor winner’s single will be released in aid of two charities.

Whoever is lucky enough to be crowned X Factor king or queen will have a chart topping hit in their hands.

We all know the tradition –whoever wins X Factor gets a Christmas number one. It’s pretty much a given. Well apart from that year where the public rebelled and Rage Against the Machine took the festive number one spot of course!

However although it is nice sometime to overrule the norm, to ensure that the public still has its voice and isn’t coerced into doing something it does not want to do, we must remember that some of the proceeds from the winners chart topping single will go to much deserving charities. So even if you feel you ought to rebel and vote for a different artists, however ludicrous, unless they are planning to help the needy with the money you hand over, then you have got to ask yourself whether it really is in the Christmas spirit?

The record label that signs the new starry eyed winner is Scco Entertainment who has managed all the previous winners of the show. This year the profits will be split between two charities –Great Ormond Street Hospital –a charity who cares for very sick children and the wonderful charity Together for Short Lives. Both charities are amazing, and their work does so much to help those in need.

The two finalists will perform their prospective winners singles during the last episode of the X Factor 2013 before the actual winner is announced. Once the winner has been announced the single will immediately be available to download. The date for this momentous event is the 15th of December. The single will then physically be out in the shops on the 18th December –a perfect gift for any X Factor fan.

Simon Cowell, who created the show said: “Every day they (the two charities) do inspiring work and help a load of kids and their families, all of which need their expertise and support. I have been lucky enough to see first-hand the great work that both of these charities do and I am thrilled that we can do something to help by donating the sales of The X Factor winner’s single to them both.”

This is the sixth time that the X Factors winning artists debut song will be released in aid of a charity and at least 20p for each download and £1 for each single sold will be donated.

It certainly is a truly worthy cause so even if your act didn’t win, get into the spirit of Christmas and buy the single anyway!
