The judges pick their final twelve that will go on to sing in the live shows!

Drum roll please. It’s the moment we have all been waiting for. The X Factor results are finally in and the boys, girls, groups and overs that will be taking part in the final stage of the competition –the live shows, have been announced.

So who make up the final twelve, did your favourite get picked? did someone get robbed? Did the judges make the right decision? Lets find out below whose dreams came true last weekend where, after an emotional round of heartfelt performances the final cut was made.

Nicole Scherzinger has been put as mentor for the girls this year and made her final selection of Tanara Foster, Abi Alton and Hannah Barret. The girls went on an emotional rollercoaster while at judges houses having been taken to the stunning island of Antigua where they enjoyed their first taste living in the lap of luxury –a sign of things to come if they were lucky enough to win the competition. After enjoying a taste of the party lifestyle having been escorted by Nicole to a vibrant carnival, the girls got serious and gave their last performances and with it their last chance to impress.

16 year old Tamara gave a beautiful performance of Fallin’ for the R & B superstars by Alisha Keys, which was enough to see her through

Before she was given the happy news she said: ‘You know all my life, I’ve been told I’m no good and I can’t do it but now I’m here and I know I can do it.’

Abi Alton sang Yazoo’s Only You and gave such an emotional performance that she moved both Nicole and Mary J BLige who she had invited to help her with the tough decision.

The third lucky girl to be picked was student Hannah Barrett whose voice cracked with emotion during her performance of Sam Cooke’s A Change is Gonna Come. After being picked she said of her performance:

‘Vocally my audition at Judges’ Houses wasn’t perfect. But I think it was the emotion I put into the song that got me through. I was so nervous at the thought of getting a “no”.’

Choosing the final three groups also proved difficult for Gary but he finally made his decision picking Kingsland Road who sang an Olly Murs song, right in front of the man himself!

The second group to make the grade was Rough Copy, who used to be a trio but were reduced to a duo and had a lot to prove. However the boys performed well enough to secure them a place.

Finally Miss Dynamix were the last group to make it through. They are a group made from solo artists who the judges decided weren’t quite right by themselves. They impressed with their rendition of pop classic Pure Shores by All Saints.

Sharon Osbourne who is mentoring the overs decided on 34 year old Shelley Smith, a single mum living in Devon, who expressed how much she wanted this in order to make a better life for her daughter. Next in the running was Sam Bailey, the likeable prison officer from Leicestershire and finally the youngest of the overs, Lorna simpson aged 26 who is a university student  and has continually impressed all of the judges throughout the competition.

Finally it was Louis turn to pick the boys and he chose 17 year old Luke Friend whose unusual image appealed to both the judges and audiences alike. Nicole even described him as a ‘diamond in the rough!’

Next Nicholas McDonald impressed Louis enough to secure himself a place in the live shows. Louis is only 16 years old and currently lives in Scotland and is an old hat to the music business having been gigging in local venues for years.

The final boy to be chosen was cheeky faced barman Sam Callahan from Essex. Sam told the judges how he has always dreamt of becoming a professional musician and now it looks like he is going to get the chance!
