Ray Winstone and Amanda Redman to Star in New ITV Series The Trials of Jimmy Rose

Ray Winstone and Amanda Redman are et to star in a new ITV series called The Trials of Jimmy Rose. The Trials of Jimmy Rose is a warm, funny and compelling drama about a man with a criminal past who has to prove to his wife and his family that it’s never too late to start over. It’s a 3-part series being filmed in Manchester beginning in November 2014. Winstone is known for his “tough guy” roles, beginning with his role as Carlin in the 1979 film Scum and then Will Scarlet in the television series Robin of Sherwood. Redman is best known for her role as Sandra Pullman in the BBC One series New Tricks. The two will fit the series well.

And while his family live in a beautiful detached home, Jimmy’s actions have come at an enormous cost to his family with him spending more time in prison than with love-of-his-life Jackie, their children and grandchildren.

The three-part series, written by Alan Whiting, will explore how Jimmy tries to put his criminal life behind him and regain their respect.

The series is the latest big network drama to be filmed around Manchester – hot on the heels of The Driver on the BBC and the new series of Scott and Bailey currently airing on ITV. Th
