Paddy Jones Had No Idea Simon Cowell Pressed his Buzzer

Paddy Jones was the first to get the golden buzzer on Britian’s Got Talent. Judge Amanda Holden pressed the golden buzzer for the first time ever and sent Paddy to the next stage of the competition. Paddy Jones has already won a Spanish talent show, and her outlook on Britian’s Got Talent is, so far, good.

Britain’s Got Talent’s dancing grandmother Paddy Jones didn’t notice Simon Cowell had pressed his red buzzer.

The show guru initially rejected the 79-year-old dancer and her partner Nico on last weekend’s opening show of the series, but he was left stunned when the pair launched into a energetic Salsa routine.

However, Paddy claims she didn’t let the negative buzz affect her routine because she wasn’t even aware it had happened.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning earlier today, Paddy said: “I didn’t see very much because Nico was moving me around… it wasn’t like I was stood there and could see the audience and get nervous. I was just going around like a whirling dervish!”

However, the flexible septuagenarian was automatically put through to the next round of the show after judge Amanda Holden pressed her golden buzzer.

Asked what it was like to be the first recipient of the golden buzzer, she replied: “It was really special. To be the first act to get it was really really super.”
