Louis Walsh signs for the new series of X Factor

It seems that Simon Cowell has won the battle with the ITV bosses for his pal Louis Walsh, making him judge for the tenth time. The condition for this is that Cowell agrees to have Gary Barlow also back on the panel.

The music mogul’s people will meet with the ITV directors next week to start planning the new format and the panel, and also the budget allocated for the new season.

Simon was fighting the ITV bosses because they wanted to axe Louis, but in the meantime he didn’t want for Gary Barlow to return because he considers him ‘boring’.Well it seems that a compromise was made because ITV execs have already talked with Louis, telling him he is safe. This will be Louis’ tenth season as a judge.

Louis was even keener to be back on the show after his good pal Sharon Osbourne was offered Tulisa’s seat on the panel. Nicole Scherzinger also is in negotiations for her return.

A friend of Louis has declared that: He’s been told by the heads of entertainment at ITV that he’s coming back and (executive producer) Richard Holloway has also said he’ll be back. Obviously he wants to see the contract in his hand but everyone who has the power to make a decision on it has said he’s coming back so if that changes something very odd has gone on.

Normally it’s Simon who upsets the apple cart at the last minute but he’s been desperate to keep Louis on the show so he’s unlikely to give him the axe. He’s always said he wants to do ten series of the show.

Louis was also supported by Ant and Dec, who earlier this month insisted at the ITV bosses to give Louis another season. Ant told The Sun:  Louis really wants to make it ten years and I think they should let him have his ten years.
