Long Lost Family on ITV Tonight



Long Lost Family will air tonight, continuing the series into it’s 4th series since it began in 2011. the series offers a last chance for people who are desperate to find long lost relatives. The series helps a handful of people, some of whom have been searching in vain for many years, find the family members they are desperately seeking. It explores the background and context of each family’s estrangement and tracks the detective work and often complex and emotional process of finding each lost relative before they are reunited.

A NEW series of Long Lost Family is set to begin on ITV tonight (Monday, July 14).

The programme, presented by Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell, traces and reunites families who have been apart for most of their lives.

In the first episode, Bradford mother-of-one Louise, 28, is looking for her father, who she has never met.

Louise’s mother met Stephane when she was working as an au-pair in France but after falling pregnant, she returned to Bradford to give birth and lost touch with him.

Long Lost Family is a BAFTA award winning British television series that has aired on ITV since 21 April 2011. It is made by the production company Wall to Wall. Three series have been broadcast, the most recent currently airing from June–August 2013. It has been announced that Long Lost Family is to return for a fourth series of 8 episodes, beginning on 14 July 2014.

Long Lost Family is about people finding relatives who were split up for various reasons. With the help and support of Davina and Nicky, each relative is guided and supported through the process of tracing the member of their family they have been desperately seeking, in some cases for most of their lives.Long Lost Family reveals the background to each case, the social context and reasons why these estrangements occurred, from the single teenage mums who felt unable to keep their babies to the fathers who left and the twin sisters who were separated at birth.
