Little Mix Visit Liberia with Sport Relief

Chart toppers Little Mix are visiting Liberia with the Sport Relief crew to help raise money for the charity. The X-Factor winners are very supportive of Sport Relief and are also doing everything they can to stay in their audience’s view.  Little Mix will be recording a single for Sport Relief later this year. Proceeds will go to Sport Relief.

The X Factor winners Little Mix travelled to Liberia to see the good work done with Sport Relief money

Chart toppers Little Mix travelled to Liberia to see how money from their Sport Relief single is being spent – and told of their pride.

The X Factor winners have been spending time seeing Sport Relief cash in action and meeting members of the community.

It was announced last week that the girl group, including South Shields singers Perrie Edwards, 20, and Jade Thirlwall, 21, would record this year’s Sport Relief single.

The girls will release their version of the Cameo’s classic RnB track Word Up to raise as much money for the cause as possible.

But before promotional work for the single begins, the four members have flown to Liberia in West Africa to see how the money raised in previous years has been used.

And it appears the trip has been an emotional one for the group, who won the ITV talent show back in 2011.

Taking to their Little Mix Twitter account group members have been sharing some of their experiences with fans, known affectionately as Mixers.

In their first tweet about the trip, the girls posted a picture of the four of them stating: “First day in Liberia with @sportrelief We’re looking to seeing to Sport Relief cash in action x.”

Later in the trip Jade and fellow band member Jesy Nelson were pictured kneeling beside a mother and her child sat on a bed. The girls tweeted the picture saying: “Seen some tough things but met some amazing people today in Liberia. So good to see what @sportrelief do.”

But as well as the tough side of the trip, the girls posted a picture of all of them surrounded by members of the community, writing: “Making some very special new friends in Liberia 🙂 @sportrelief #SR14.”

Overall the group said the experience had been one of the best of their lives, opening their eyes to see how much the money their single raises will help others.

Band member Leigh-Anne Pinnock posted the final picture simply stating: “Liberia was one of the best experiences.. Mixers lets raise as much money as we can for@sportrelief leigh x.”

It’s good that people in the popular spotlight step out and do things to help charitable causes. Little Mix is doing a good thing, and we realize they are getting good publicity for it also, but that’s good payment for their work in helping Sport Relief raise money.
