Dancing On Ice Star Matt Evers Prepares for Charity Event

Dancing On Ice star Matt Evers is preparing for a wild ride down a ski slope after the upcoming Walking With The Wounded charity event. Although he’s never gone down a ski slope before, he’s excited about the opportunity to do so and to support such a great charity.

DANCING on Ice star Matt Evers exclusively revealed to the Midweek his plans to go down the John Nike Leisure Centre ski slope after a charity fundraiser.

The dazzling skater – who has performed on the ITV show for nine seasons – says he is excited to be performing ‘Heroes On Ice’ at the Bracknell centre’s ice rink in September, in aid of Armed Forces charity Walking With The Wounded.

He will be joined by fellow celebrity skating pros Frankie Poultney, Maria Filippov, Mark Hanretty, Sylvain Longchambon and Vicky Ogden on the ice and is hopeful it will be a night to remember.

He said: “I’m really excited to be performing at John Nike, particularly as Frankie and I do a lot of our training there. It almost feels like a hometown audience for us and I can’t wait to get out there and mingle with all the local skaters and families.”

The 37-year-old added: “And I want to go down that ski slope! I’ve never done that. Maybe after the show!”

The six professionals will skate alongside amateurs from the Bracknell Ice Skating Club for two shows on Saturday, September 21.

Choreography is still in the concept stages but Matt added: “The numbers are going to be just as spectacular as they are on Dancing on Ice and we’re hoping to do all-new material. We try to keep it as fresh as possible and there will be some surprises.”

The show has been inspired by a three-way international race to Antarctica in November – the South Pole Allied Challenge – organised by Walking With The Wounded, which pays for training and education programmes for injured military personnel.

Walking With The Wounded supports injured military personnel, which is a much needed service. We’re thankful people take the time, effort and finances to manage organizations such as this. Matt Evers must thing so to as he prepares for his ski ride after the upcoming charity event.
